He Needs His Own Space

Hello, this is Judi Wiley of IrresistibleWife.com with your nugget of the week.

Your husband needs his own literal space in your home.

If you have the luxury of a large enough place give him the choice of a room of his own. If you don’t have this luxury, find a spot, a corner, a closet, an area in the garage...some place he can call his own.

He needs an area where he can keep his own items for his hobbies, his studies, or just some of his memoirs. While you are designating areas, don’t forget a room or a corner spot for an office.

This office area allows you and/or your husband to organize files and set up a computer and printer in order to take care of the financial and correspondence needs of the family.

The space or room that is designated for your husband is for him. He can keep it as neat or as messy as he wants to. This may be hard for some wives who like everything to be very neat.

But don’t pick up after him or move things around in his space. If you do then he really won’t feel like it’s his space. In fact you probably have the rest of the house to fix exactly the way you want.

Your husband needs his own space to do with as he chooses. When you are tempted to re-arrange or re-decorate “his space” step back and ask yourself, would I want him to do that to me.

Let your husband have his space that is truly his and his alone.
