Drinking water is extremely important to the health of your body. For some people drinking water is difficult and, well, boring. Boring to their tastebuds that is. Here are 7 tips to help you get the water your body thirsts for. Pun intended. ;)

  1. Drink a glass of water upon waking in the morning. This is especially important because your body hasn't been fed or "watered" all night.
  2. Add a warm mug of lemon water to your breakfast - warm mug of water in the microwave and squeeze fresh lemon juice into your water.
  3. If you find water difficult to drink because it is bland, infuse it with flavor by adding a couple of drops of flavored liquid stevia. Stevia comes in many flavors such as rootbeer, lemon, vanilla, grape, cinnamon, orange and many more. A flavor combo I enjoy is cinnamon and vanilla creme. I add one drop of each (extra if I'm drinking a large glass). One thing to keep in mind is to start with just a drop or two and add one at a time until you achieve the flavor you want. Adding too much stevia will make your water bitter. This is a great way to get away from drinking soda. My friend Jay used to drink a few liters of diet soda a day. Now he doesn't drink any!
  4. Drink your water at just about room temperature. When it's not ice cold it is easier to drink more.
  5. Drink a cup of water before every meal.
  6. When you feel hungry grab a glass of water. A lot of times you are actually thirsty and not hungry.
  7. Drink water throughout the day from a 12 oz. glass/mug/bottle and keep it near you. Whenever you look at the water drink some. The smaller size container means you will have to refill it more often. An advantage of this is that you will have to get up to refill it. If you work at a desk all day, this gives your body a chance to relax and stretch.

You don't necessarily have to incorporate all 7 tips into your daily routine, but if you can add a couple you'll be well on your way to a healthy body.
